My response to ‘Kakak Kondom’ – ANGKASA

My response to ‘Kakak Kondom’.

I am giving you a question to ponder. Are you actually promoting safe sex or educating on sexual education?

I am very much sure that both of you are clearly aware the usage of condom. Hence it is actually confusing if the objective of your video is about sex education when the direction of your video is actually promoting safe sex.

First of let me get this straight, the whole idea of sex education is about abstinence, how you are comfortable about yourself and how to take care of personal hygiene. What we are supposed to teach the youngsters is abstinence not safe sex.

This is because first, the ultimatum to decrease the percentage of sexually transmitted disease or HIV or unwanted pregnancies be it among the teenagers or unmarried adults is abstinence. Safe sex doesn’t guarantee that one self will not get infected by the STD’s or HIV or being pregnant. We need to teach the youngsters on how to defend themselves if ever there were to be an attack to rape.
Second, in country like Malaysia whereby most of the religion agrees to the moral values that it is immoral to involve in premarital sex, and sexual promiscuity, hence advocating the freedom of using condom is far from acceptable. Advocating on the correct way to wear condom indirectly promoting the culture of Zina.

In the Qur’an,

وَلَا تَقْرَبُوا۟ ٱلزِّنَىٰٓ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ فَٰحِشَةً وَسَآءَ سَبِيلًا

(And do not come near to adultery, it is a shameful deed and an evil, and opening the road to other evils.)

Surah al-Isra’, 17:32

This verse clearly says that abstinence is the key to solve problem of Sexually Transmitted Diseases/HIV or unwanted pregnancies be it among unmarried adult and what more to the youngsters. Easy excess to condom, which it is sold in convenient store makes opens door to more unwanted pregnancies STD’s and HIV.

Third, I must address that the education of proper use of condom shall not be taught among the youngsters. It mut be taught in manner which the couple is married. Because I do understand that it is a mechanism to family planning. Teaching it to the youngster is as if you are teaching them to not practice abstinence and practice sexually active lifestyle.

Abstinence is the key!
